Practice of the Month

On Breathing III

Breathing - the most basic topic. This is the third in a series.

Pushing Breath.

Get settled. Close your eyes. Connect to your breathing. Begin to move and as you move align the movement with the breathing. That is, let the movements you do coincide with the intake and outflow of the breath.

As you move, let the breath feel thick as it enters and escapes you, as if it is water. Experiment with that feeling. The heaviness of air. Its density. This is similar to the feeling of breathing in a steam room where the air is very humid.

Testimonials of the Month

“Oh yes it has been awhile. As the tears fall down my face…and the soul comes to the surface…I've been rocking and rolling along a road of inner peace and when you play the music, my body moves and sways. It becomes time to begin again the journey into my soul. Lee Ann Womack said it best, "If you have a chance to it out or dance…I hope you dance." Yes, my friend, I hope you dance. The emotional track of my senses is ever so present. The sound of the music creates peace in an ever so rocky mind of everyday tasking...Stop…drop…and Roll…the most important thing is to listen to what my body is telling me…dance…listen to the silent voice within the innermost part of your throat. Oh, yes, it has been awhile. I wasn't sure why I came and as the weekend progressed along the reason came…once I stopped looking…Thank you for being a major part of my path…”
--Gayla M. D. Reilly, Retired Naval Officer. MA

“The weekend workshop was experience was one in a lifetime. Thank you, I want more. My body feels sore but wonderful. Emotions are a little shaky. The slowness is wonderful.”
--Carleen Bevans, Yoga Instructor & Trager Practicioner, Maine
