I will continue offering Dancemeditation on Saturdays. This series is for those who want to experience the Dancemeditation process of deepening – the Four R’s.
On Wednesday evenings I'm introducing a project I'm calling 'Side-by-Side: Supported Personal Practice'. I've wanted to do this for many years. I think Zoom is perfect for it.
Saturdays, May 16 thru June 6
11am – 12:15pm ET
Location: on Zoom in your home ~
Sliding Scale Donation ($16–$100 for the course of four sessions)
I will continue offering this instruction on Saturdays. This is a series for those who want to experience the Dancemeditation process of deepening–the Four R’s. Each session, we focus on a few simple, rich moving meditations to sink down a couple of notches inside the self, touching Self, followed by time to move on our own, digesting and integrating the openings. Most sessions include rest in one form or another. The energy passing through the online portal is quite powerful, amplifying our individual efforts, supporting us.
Meditations include: Breath Dances, Rocking, Sufi Hand Dances, Deep State Movement Meditations, Vibration & Wave Form Motion, Deep Rest.
Side-by-Side Personal Practice Support
Wednesdays, May 20 thru June 10
6:30pm – 7:45pm ET (East Coast Time)
Location: on Zoom in your home ~
Sliding Scale Donation ($16–$100 for the course of four sessions
For years, practitioners have been sharing their difficulties with establishing and maintaining a personal practice. It is challenging. Well, along comes Zoom, which is by nature in your living room, in your world, right where you would be doing a personal practice. The beauty is we can do it together, side by side. Zoom is turning out to be a powerful portal—the Sufi energy moves well there.
I propose Wednesdays as support in this form:
– We will begin with a brief 5′- 10′ Lead & Follow to get us going featuring guest leaders
– I’ll DJ music for movement into the deepening arc for 30′
– a period of quiet for writing (or for rest)
– a period in break-out rooms in smaller groups to read-back (or speak from our body-being)
– a brief return to the Main Room to say goodbye
If you are new to Dancemeditation™, I recommend doing Saturday mornings as well where you will be guided through this practice’s progression. The supported practice will then amplify your meditation and make more sense.
Dancemeditation™ 's deepening, embodying process helps us regenerate, heal, and trust ourselves. We come home to our root being-ness. Without words, with beautiful music, with eyes open or closed, in the continual flow of breath awareness, we move through the crust of harried worries and into our huge spiritual intelligence. Body speaks to us from the flow of our most Original self. Then we rest and knit together. Dunya’s powerful guidance ushers participants into their depths, their aliveness, their embodied presence.
About the Courses:
Saturdays Guided Instruction moves participants through the powerful Dancemeditation™ process of Relaxation, Receptivity, Reciprocity and Rest. If you are new to this practice, Saturdays takes you in. Meditations include: Breath Dances, Rocking, Sufi Hand Dances, Deep State Movement Meditations, Vibration & Wave Form Motion, Deep Rest.
On Wednesdays Supported Personal Practice is best for those with some experience with Dancemeditation™. It will make more sense and be more useful to you.
Best is to do both.
About Zoom: It’s not that hard. And it is a real blessing to be able to move side-by-side at a distance. Give yourself 15′ to download it and learn a few settings before we meet.
About Dunya: Dunya Dianne McPherson is Shattari Master Teacher and Founder of Dancemeditation™. Juilliard BFA and NEA Choreography Fellow, Dunya’s teaching credits include Princeton University, Swarthmore College, New York University, Hunter College, Barnard College, Kripalu, and others.
