Description

The first session in the Dancemeditation series of Fluid Yoga, paced at Beginning level, focuses on the pelvis.

Your pelvis is the center of your movement and vitality. Energize this center by discovering subtle, gentle movements that free blocks and melt away pain. Join Dunya in a calming, meditative sanctuary as you stretch, rock and gently vibrate on the waves of your breath. You’ll learn how to relieve low back pain, release restricted breathing and improve digestion.

Three qualitatively different practice sequences help reduce deep-seeded tensions.

Part I – Horizontal motion
Working in a prone orientation, you’ll use gravity to lengthen and engage your core while gently stimulating your organs.
Part II – Seated motion
Loosens and releases the connections between pelvis and torso. Hip sockets, sacrum and low back.
Part III – Standing motion
Pelvic vibration stimulates energetic and fluid circulation in the viscera and strengthens the entire region.

Parts I and II are ideal before work or bed, or any time you experience low back stress. Part III awakens energy.
Though the segments can be done individually, we present them as a natural progression from horizontal to standing, each segment engaging and strengthening postural muscles differently. The consistent inward focus activates embodied meditation.

“Thank you, Dunya, for thirteen years of inspired healing and teaching. Working and teaching Thai Yoga Massage in New York City requires a great deal of focused energy. My success in the work I do is a reflection of your silent meditation exercises. Your techniques allow me to return to that inner place of stillness and yet feel revitalized, energetic and creative. At home I practice your dance meditation videos and I continue to maintain the benefits of this unique work. I look forward to seeing you again.”
